1 Agreement to These Terms

By downloading or using Serum ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Serum.

Serum is intended for adults aged 18 and over. By using the App, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age.

2 What Serum Is

Serum is a personal health data organisation tool. It helps you import, track, visualise, and understand your blood test results and related biomarkers over time. Serum is designed to make your existing health data more accessible and meaningful to you.

3 Your Account & Data

Serum does not require an account. All data you enter or import into Serum is stored locally on your device. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of data you enter and for maintaining access to your device.

Because your data is stored on your device and not on our servers, we cannot recover your data if your device is lost, damaged, or reset. We strongly recommend keeping regular iCloud or device backups.

4 Subscriptions & Payments

Serum offers a free tier and optional premium features available through an auto-renewable subscription. Subscriptions are managed entirely through the Apple App Store.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions
• Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their standard refund policy

We do not process payments directly and do not have access to your billing information. All payment terms are governed by Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions.

5 Acceptable Use

You agree to use Serum only for its intended personal health tracking purposes. You agree not to:

• Use Serum to provide medical advice or diagnostics to others
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
• Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality

6 Intellectual Property

Serum, including its design, code, content, health score algorithms, reference range data, and all related materials, is owned by Serum and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership of any part of the App.

You retain full ownership of the personal health data you enter into Serum. We make no claim to your data.

7 Disclaimer of Warranties

Serum is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that the information it provides is complete, accurate, or current.

Reference ranges, optimal zones, and health scores are based on published research and are intended as general educational information — not personalised medical guidance. Individual health needs vary significantly. Always work with a qualified clinician when interpreting your results.

8 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Serum and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of or inability to use the App — including any decisions made based on information provided by Serum.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for your Serum subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $10 USD if no subscription was purchased.

9 Third-Party Services

Serum integrates with Apple Health and the Apple App Store. Your use of those services is governed by Apple's own terms and privacy policies. Serum is not responsible for the practices, content, or policies of any third-party service.

10 Changes to the App or Terms

We may update the App or these Terms from time to time. When we update these Terms, we'll revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Serum after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11 Termination

You may stop using Serum at any time by deleting the App from your device. Deleting the App will permanently remove all locally stored data. If you have an active subscription, cancel it via iOS Settings before deleting the App to avoid further charges.

We reserve the right to discontinue the App or any feature at any time. In the event of discontinuation, we will provide reasonable advance notice where possible.

12 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Washington State, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in that venue.
